Choline Supplement OEM, ODM & Private Label Solutions

KS Nutripharma is a choline supplement manufacturer for OEM, ODM, and private-label finished units. A choline bitartrate supplement is specified by actual choline and salt identity. Phosphatidylcholine and lecithin follow their own PC or phospholipid specifications.

Finished units on these routes are made as capsules, tablets, softgels, powders, gummies, or liquids. A label, a current bottle, or a short note is enough to start.

Choline Formula Options for OEM and Private Label

Choline projects generally fall into three manufacturing routes: dry choline salts, phospholipid products, and named cognitive forms. The raw material identity determines the label basis, dosage form, fill system, and release specification.

01-choline-bitartrate-capsules-for-a-standalone-choline-sku
Choline Bitartrate

Use when: The SKU is a standalone choline bitartrate supplement, or choline is a supporting line in a B-complex or multivitamin.
Specify: Bitartrate identity, actual choline milligrams, and serving. Name L(+) or DL as the supplier files it.
Trade-off: A multivitamin or B-complex uses a different fill and formulation architecture from a standalone choline SKU.
Default format: Capsule. Higher solids are specified as tablets.

02-prenatal-choline-capsules-as-their-own-finished-unit
Prenatal Choline

Use when: A prenatal multi includes a choline line, or the brand adds a standalone choline SKU beside it.
Specify: Whether choline sits inside the multi or on its own unit. Name bitartrate or supplement-grade choline chloride, actual choline milligrams, capsule shell, and serving. If a plant-based or allergen-specific positioning is required, the raw-material source is specified separately. Prenatal label compliance remains destination-specific.
Trade-off: A standalone prenatal choline SKU is a different architecture from a choline line inside a prenatal multi. The salt is named on the specification. It is not assumed to be bitartrate.
Default format: Capsule, once the salt and unit count are locked.

03-choline-chloride-prepared-as-a-fortified-drink
Choline Citrate or Chloride

Use when: The brief names choline citrate or choline chloride, including a beverage or fortified-food application.
Specify: Salt identity, actual choline milligrams, and whether the unit is a capsule, tablet, powder, or beverage. Beverage files add solubility, taste, moisture handling, stability, and serving volume.
Trade-off: Moisture handling and sensory properties are evaluated when chloride is used in powders, liquids, or high-load formats. Feed-grade chloride on corn cob, silica, or as an animal premix is not used in a finished supplement.
Default format: Capsule, tablet, or powder. Beverage fortification is quoted as its own process.

04-phosphatidylcholine-softgels-filled-with-a-lipid
Phosphatidylcholine

Use when: The label hero is phosphatidylcholine.
Specify: Source (soy, sunflower, rapeseed, or egg), phosphatidylcholine milligrams or PC%, and the fill system. A concentrated powder that still needs a carrier, and a phosphatidylcholine already dispersed in oil, are two different fills.
Trade-off: Viscosity, leakage control, and oxidation stability are part of the fill specification.
Default format: Softgel for an oil or other lipid system. Powder when the brief is a dry phospholipid.

05-lecithin-powder-with-sunflower-for-a-pc-specification
Lecithin Specified by PC Content

Use when: The brief names lecithin rather than a concentrated phosphatidylcholine grade.
Specify: Source, PC%, fluid or powder, deoiled or not, carrier oil where applicable, GMO status, and allergen declaration.
Trade-off: Lecithin and concentrated phosphatidylcholine are comparable only after PC% is locked.
Default format: Softgel or powder, according to the fill and the serving.

06-citicoline-capsules-as-a-named-cognitive-form
Named Cognitive Forms — Alpha-GPC or Citicoline

Use when: The brief names Alpha-GPC or citicoline / CDP-choline.
Specify: Which compound. Branded ingredients such as Cognizin® or AlphaSize® are quoted only when the named grade and applicable brand requirements are part of the specification.
Trade-off: Formula detail stays on Alpha-GPC or Citicoline (CDP-Choline).
Default format: The dosage form is determined by the named compound and approved formula.

Milk thistle on the same formula is specified as its own botanical.

Choose the Choline Format: Capsules, Tablets, Softgels, Powder, Gummies or Liquid

Capsules are the primary finished unit. Open powder and liquid are alternative routes. Tablets and gummies need a format-specific feasibility review.

  • capsules

Best for: Dry choline salts such as bitartrate.
Specify: Shell, capsule size, fill weight, serving count.
Constraint: Higher salt loads may require multiple capsules.

  • softgels

    Best for: Phosphatidylcholine or lecithin.
Specify: Fill identity, viscosity, fill volume, oxidation controls.
Constraint: Phosphatidylcholine and lecithin softgels typically use a liquid or semi-solid fill system. A dry salt is manufactured as a capsule, tablet, or powder.

  • tablets

    Best for: Higher-solids choline salts.
Specify: Tablet weight, tablets per serving, hardness, disintegration, moisture protection.
Constraint: Tablets can accommodate higher solid loads when capsule count becomes impractical.

  • powder stick

Best for: A finished powder or stick after identity is locked.
Specify: Identity, serving basis, mesh, flow, and caking.
Constraint: Bulk raw-material pricing is separate from finished-unit manufacturing.

  • gummies

Best for: Lower choline loads, after feasibility.
Specify: Piece weight, pieces per serving, finished-piece assay.
Constraint: High choline loads require a feasibility check for cook stability, piece weight, taste, and finished-piece assay.

  • oral liquid

Best for: A liquid supplement with a stated mg/mL, or beverage fortification manufactured as a liquid system.
Specify: Concentration or fortification basis, serving volume, preservative system, and finished method.
Constraint: Dissolving a dry salt in water at the brand’s direction is not a liquid manufacturing file.

How KS Scopes a Choline Project

These are the distinctions KS uses so salt weight, actual choline, PC, lecithin, and named cognitive compounds are not quoted as the same item. A first reply does not require every line.

Liver-wellness formulas are manufactured with the liver health supplements line. The choline form on that formula is still specified here.

The label basis is locked first. Salt weight is then calculated from the approved salt specification and verified against the raw-material COA. PC, lecithin, Alpha-GPC, and citicoline remain separate active identities rather than being converted into a common choline number for quotation.

What the label states

What is purchased

Choline (as / from a named salt) — X mgActual choline, with the salt named on the raw-material row
Named salt — X mgSalt weight. “Choline bitartrate 500 mg” is not “500 mg choline.”
Phosphatidylcholine — X mgPC
Lecithin — X mgLecithin weight, with PC% locked
Alpha-GPC or citicoline — X mgThat compound

These figures describe salt chemistry. A lot assay follows the COA. They are not recommended intakes.

Processing

Mesh, conditioning, and encapsulation can affect flow, fill uniformity, compression, dispersibility, and handling. When a current file already names them, those details are used. They are not required to start.

On a dry salt, a higher choline target raises salt weight and usually the unit count. On phosphatidylcholine, a higher target raises fill volume, viscosity, and oxidation control.

Second-Source Choline Manufacturing

A replacement supplier is checked against the approved specification: same form, same measurement basis, same unit count, and the same label line. “Also contains choline” is not an equivalent specification.

Existing BOMs and supplier COAs can be reviewed against the proposed manufacturing specification before quotation.

Choline Testing and Finished-Product Release

What is tested. Incoming identity, assay or PC%, and method, as applicable to the approved specification and destination market. In-process checks cover uniformity and the controls for that dosage form. Finished-product release matches the declared line: choline, salt weight, or phosphatidylcholine. Moisture, oxidation, leak, and microbiology are included when the specification calls for them. See Quality Control.

What is documented. The approved specification, the batch COA, and release records. See How to Read a COA.

Pack. Hygroscopic salts need a moisture barrier and a desiccant strategy. Phospholipid fills need an oxygen barrier and leak control. See moisture control.

Finished-unit quantities are quoted by dosage form and project scope.

From Formula Brief to Finished Batch

R&D takes the specification through fill, a prototype, and release testing before artwork and scale-up.

  1. Specification — form, label basis, serving, dosage form, destination market.
  2. Feasibility — salt load and unit count, flow, lipid fill, moisture, or beverage stability.
  3. Prototype — sample against the approved BOM.
  4. Release testing — incoming material and finished product against the approved plan.
  5. Scale-up — pilot, production, and batch release.

A project can start from a partial description. Missing points are raised in the feedback, not held as a condition for the first reply.

MOQ and Lead Time
Softgels, gummies, liquids, and beverage fortificationQuoted after format feasibility

These are typical starting quantities. The final quantity depends on formula, dosage form, packaging, and testing. A drum of raw material is quoted separately from finished units. Samples are typically 7–15 days after the specification is locked. Commercial production is commonly 4–6 weeks after formula, artwork, testing, and the schedule are confirmed. A reorder is usually shorter than the first production batch.

Choline Supplement Manufacturer FAQs

Can 500 mg of choline bitartrate be labeled as 500 mg of choline?
No. Choline bitartrate weight and actual choline content are different specifications. The label basis is set first, then the required salt weight is calculated against the approved raw-material specification and verified during release.

Can you match an existing choline SKU with a second source?
Yes. Send the current label, BOM, and COA. The replacement is checked against the approved form, measurement basis, unit count, and applicable raw-material specifications.

Can choline be a line in a B-complex or multivitamin?
Yes. That line has its own salt, milligrams, and assay. The bottle is not quoted as a standalone choline SKU.

Do you quote feed-grade choline chloride?
No. Finished supplements use supplement-grade choline salts. Feed-carrier chloride and animal premixes are outside this program.

Can you fortify a beverage or drink powder?
Yes, when solubility, taste, moisture handling, stability, and serving volume are on the specification. That is separate from a capsule quote for the same choline declaration.

Can you work with customer-supplied material?
Yes. The incoming lot is checked against the approved identity, assay or PC%, and the panels named on the specification.

Can you manufacture Alpha-GPC or citicoline?
Yes, as finished units for those compounds. Stack formulas and branded cognitive grades are handled on the Alpha-GPC and citicoline pages.

Tell Us What You Have

KS Nutripharma® manufactures:

  • Choline bitartrate capsules and tablets, including a choline line in a B-complex or multivitamin
  • Prenatal choline, as a line inside a multi or as its own capsule
  • Supplement-grade choline chloride or citrate, including powders and beverage fortification
  • Phosphatidylcholine and lecithin softgels or powders
