Professional Vitamin K2 Supplements Manufacturer
KS Nutripharma is a vitamin K2 supplement manufacturer for OEM, ODM, and private-label programs. We manufacture finished vitamin K2 supplements (K2 dietary supplements) — MK-7, MK-4, or both — as oil-fill softgels, liquid drops, and selected capsule or tablet SKUs, including calcium combination programs when minerals are on the BOM.
Name the menaquinone form (MK-7 or MK-4), mcg, oil system, vegan requirements, dosage form, packaging, and testing. We quote from that specification.

Vitamin K2 Forms: MK-7 vs MK-4
MK-7 and MK-4 are not interchangeable on a BOM, COA, or Supplement Facts line.
Vitamin K2 MK-7
MK-7 (menaquinone-7) is the default commercial MK-7 supplement conversation. Specify mcg, fermentation source (natto vs soy-free), and all-trans method if claimed. A total-K2 number is not a substitute for a named MK-7 line.
Vitamin K2 MK-4
MK-4 (menaquinone-4) is a separate MK-4 supplement file. Typical mcg conversation is higher than MK-7 and may use a split serving. Do not copy an MK-7 mcg, method, or study file onto MK-4.
MK-7 + MK-4
Both forms in one oil fill need two identities, two mcg lines, and two assays. Pairings such as MK-7 ~100 mcg + MK-4 ~500 mcg are a starting conversation. Do not print a single “K2 mg” in place of each form.
MK-7 | MK-4 | |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Default commercial vitamin K2 | Named MK-4 SKU or complex |
| Typical mcg conversation | Lower mcg, often once daily | Higher mcg, often split serving |
| Common formats | Vitamin K2 softgels / drops | Oil softgel |
| Method file | Named method + all-trans if claimed | Its own method and mcg |
| Do not substitute with | MK-4 or vitamin K1 | MK-7 |
Choose the Vitamin K2 Format: Softgels, Capsules, Tablets or Drops
Gummies after a dedicated pilot: heat, sugar system, and oil-soluble assay per piece.
Best for: F01–F06 and F08, when vitamin K2 softgels are the default oil-fill path.
Why: Vitamin K2 is oil-soluble. Development centers on the oil phase, fill volume, potency uniformity, light exposure, and shell integrity.
Typical formula cards: F01, F02, F03, F04, F05, F08.
Specify: Die size, fill weight, seam, gelatin vs vegan gel (plant-gel system), and named carrier oil. A vegan softgel shell is not an HPMC capsule.
Manufacturing note: High elemental magnesium usually needs a second SKU or a tablet (F07), not a mini oil die.
→ Softgel Solutions
Best for: Vitamin K2 capsules when MK-7 is supplied as beadlets or powder, and the dry magnesium companion on F07.
Why: Two-piece fill when the grade is dry or when minerals set the unit.
Typical formula cards: F07 companion; selected MK-7 beadlet paths.
Specify: HPMC or gelatin shell, beadlet grade, and fill weight.
Manufacturing note: Oil in a hard capsule is a different process from a rotary-die softgel.
→ Hard Capsules
Best for: Vitamin K2 tablets when elemental magnesium or another dry load sets unit mass.
Why: Compression, hardness, disintegration, and coating when elemental magnesium (or another dry load) sets unit mass.
Typical formula cards: F07 mineral side; beadleted vitamin K2 in a tablet when that file is approved.
Specify: Compression vs oil; whether vitamin K2 is a beadlet in the tablet or a companion softgel.
Manufacturing note: Tablet production needs a separate compression and assay review even when vitamins started as a softgel BOM.
→ Tablets
Best for: F09 — vitamin K2 drops / vitamin K2 liquid drops with metered mcg and no capsule count.
Why: Flexible serving in a named oil, with dose accuracy on the bottled liquid.
Typical formula cards: F09.
Specify: Dropper calibration, oil, light-protective pack, and assay per mL.
Manufacturing note: Softgel COA values do not transfer to mL assay.

Vitamin K2 Formulation Architectures
Starting architectures for vitamin K2 private-label SKUs. Pick the closest card or send a BOM. KS formulation team and R&D center confirm menaquinone form and mcg against that BOM.
Optional companions (boron, vitamin A, or a named B vitamin) can sit on F01 or F05 when the BOM includes them.
Vitamin K2 Combination Formulas
Vitamin K2 can sit beside calcium or magnesium when the mineral load is on the BOM.
Finished-product programs: supplement contract manufacturing.
Have a BOM? Send Your BOM · Still choosing? Request Formula Support
Architecture: Oil-fill MK-7 (menaquinone-7).
Best for: Mainstream once-daily vitamin K2 MK-7 supplement.
Specify: MK-7 form, mcg, oil, shell, all-trans method if claimed. Serving is mcg, not mg.
Watch-out: 100 mcg and 200 mcg are different specifications. MK-7 is not MK-4. D3 on the same bottle is F04.
Architecture: Oil-fill MK-4 (menaquinone-4).
Best for: RFQs that already name an MK-4 supplement, or a split-dose MK-4 concept.
Specify: MK-4 mcg, source, oil, and count per day if split.
Watch-out: Do not treat MK-4 mcg as MK-7 mcg.
Architecture: Dual menaquinone, one oil fill, two Supplement Facts lines.
Best for: Brands that want both forms named on the label.
Specify: Each identity and mcg; oil; vegan documentation if required.
Watch-out: Two assays. Do not print a single “K2 mg.”
Architecture: Named vitamin K2 (MK-7 default, or MK-4) plus vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in one oil-fill SKU.
Best for: When a vitamin K2 RFQ also names D3 IU on the same bottle.
Specify: K2 form + mcg + method; D3 identity + IU; oil; shell. Separate D3 and K2 assays.
Watch-out: Do not add D3 IU onto an F01 BOM later. Calcium, magnesium, vegan D3, and D3 + K2 drops: Vitamin D3 + K2 supplement manufacturer.
Architecture: F01 or F03 with vegan MK-7 source + vegan oil + vegan softgel shell (starch/carrageenan plant-gel).
Best for: Plant-based vegan vitamin K2 lines.
Specify: Soy-free fermentation if required; shell system; oil; vegan statement.
Watch-out: A vegan softgel shell is a different PO from an HPMC two-piece capsule.
Architecture: MK-7 plus fish or algal EPA/DHA in one softgel.
Best for: Oil-compatible companion fill.
Specify: EPA/DHA target, oil source, oxidation limits (peroxide/anisidine as scoped), vitamin K2 mcg, allergen, shell.
Watch-out: EPA grams are not vitamin K2 potency.
Architecture: Oil-soluble vitamin K2 plus a dry magnesium salt. Magnesium and vitamin K2 do not share one physical state, so one dosage form is not automatic — often a dual SKU (softgel + capsule/tablet) unless a defined beadlet or suspension file is approved.
Best for: Magnesium on a vitamin K2 BOM without D3.
Specify: Mg salt, elemental mg, one bottle vs dual SKU (softgel + capsule/tablet).
Watch-out: 400 mg elemental magnesium does not fit a mini oil softgel. If D3 is also on the BOM, quote F04 — not F07.
Architecture: Same oil-fill path as F01 with a different mcg file (180–200 mcg and higher-inquiry).
Best for: A higher-mcg MK-7 supplement SKU.
Specify: mcg, overage basis, stability file, all-trans if claimed.
Watch-out: Higher mcg is a different specification. Vitamin K antagonist wording still requires label review.
Architecture: Metered vitamin K2 drops in MCT or a named oil.
Best for: Flexible serving without a capsule count.
Specify: mcg per drop or per mL; dropper calibration; light protection; child-resistant pack if required.
Watch-out: A softgel potency specification cannot be transferred to a liquid SKU. Final dose accuracy must be verified on the bottled product.
1. Which MK-7 form?
Specify menaquinone-7. Name natto vs soy-free fermentation when the RFQ requires it. Trademarked raw materials are used only when named. If the label will claim all-trans MK-7, that method must sit on the same specification.
2. What potency should be specified?
Name mcg per serving. 100 mcg and 200 mcg are different files (overage, fill, stability, artwork). Higher-mcg inquiries follow F08. Study exposures are not automatic label doses.
3. Which dosage form?
Oil-fill vitamin K2 softgels are the default MK-7 path. Vitamin K2 drops need mcg per drop or per mL. Vitamin K2 capsules or tablets apply when the grade is dry or minerals set the unit.
4. What oil / carrier system?
MCT, olive, and sunflower oils are common and not interchangeable on a quote. The named oil changes fill weight, oxidation controls, allergen/vegan documentation, and sometimes shell compatibility. MK-7 potency is in mcg, so most of the fill is carrier. Changing mcg, oil, or die size is a new specification even when the label still says “MK-7.”
5. What needs to be tested?
Incoming MK-7 identity and assay; in-process fill weight and seam (or dropper fill); finished MK-7 assay versus the sample specification. If all-trans is claimed, the same method appears on the batch COA. Micro, metals, and oil quality follow the RFQ.
A vegan claim on the finished SKU needs source, oil, and shell documentation together — a vegan MK-7 CoA does not by itself make a gelatin softgel a vegan product.
“Best” on a manufacturing RFQ is a specification that can be produced, tested, and released — not a consumer ranking.
| What to check | What a usable answer looks like |
|---|---|
| Form | MK-7, MK-4, or both, named on spec and COA |
| Source | Natto vs soy-free fermentation; MK-4 source as named |
| Potency | mcg per serving, not a vague “K2 mg” |
| Assay / method | Method ID that matches the claim, including all-trans if labeled |
| Carrier and dosage form | Named oil for softgels or drops; capsules/tablets only on a matching process file |
| Vegan requirements | Vegan MK-7 + vegan oil + vegan gel documentation when claimed |
| COA and release | Identity · potency · safety · physical; retain sample; QA hold/release |
| Label process | Vitamin K antagonist wording reviewed for the destination market |
Control path: Approved specification → Incoming QC → In-process checks → Finished QC → QA release.
Results outside the agreed specification are placed on hold for investigation. The batch is released only after the deviation is resolved under a documented QA procedure.
| Stage | What we decide |
|---|---|
| Incoming | MK-7 or MK-4 identity and mcg method; oil quality as scoped; micro; metals |
| In-process | Fill weight and seam (softgel); hardness (tablet); dropper fill (liquid) |
| Finished | Menaquinone assay vs the sample spec; micro; pack |
| Dual-SKU control | Correct component, count, and lot linkage (F07) |
| Release | Batch COA: identity · potency (each analyte + method) · safety · physical. Retain sample |
In-house lab plus SGS/Eurofins when the RFQ requires a third-party report. Quality control.
| Challenge | Sample-plan focus |
|---|---|
| Oil oxidation | Peroxide/anisidine as scoped (especially F06) |
| Vegan shell | Plant-gel system — not HPMC |
| Light-sensitive fill | Pack and handling vs the oil file |
| Liquid dose | Calibration + bottled assay |
| Dual SKU | Component, count, lot linkage |
Oil and light-sensitive fills: Moisture Control & Stability Engineering.
Pack selection starts with light and oxygen sensitivity, then dosage form, count, shelf-life target, market requirements, and shipping conditions.
HDPE or PET bottles with induction sealing are common starting configurations for vitamin K2 softgels. Opaque or light-protective packs are evaluated against the oil and dating requirements. A desiccant can be added when the product and packaging specification require it.
Dual-SKU kits (mineral tablet + vitamin softgel) need two counts, two lots, and one carton as scoped. Drops: dropper calibration, light-protective bottle, child-resistant closure if required.
Supplement Facts lists each menaquinone form + mcg as its own line. Structure/function review before artwork freeze. Softgel count conversations often 30 / 60 / 90 / 120. Language, notification numbers, vitamin K antagonist warnings where required, and units follow the destination market. Shelf life is established from the formulation, packaging, storage conditions, and supporting stability data.
Cost and schedule driver | What changes the quote |
|---|---|
| Vitamin K2 material | Form, mcg, all-trans if claimed, natto vs soy-free, MK-4 source |
| Formula | Dual menaquinone, omega-3, minerals, dual SKU |
| Format | Softgel vs tablet vs capsules vs drops vs gummy |
| Pack | Bottle, blister, dropper, carton |
| Market | Testing panel, documentation, label review |
Planning ranges
Indicative planning ranges; actual timing starts after specification and artwork requirements are confirmed.
Stage | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Sample | 7–15 days after the specification is approved |
| Pilot | 15–25 days |
| Mass production | 30–45 days after approval and scheduling |
| Scope | Typical starting range |
|---|---|
| Softgels | ~3,000–5,000 units (fill, shell, and pack) |
| Tablets | ~5,000–10,000 units |
| Capsules | ~3,000–5,000 units |
| Liquid drops | Project-scoped |
| Gummies | Project-scoped |
| Bulk vitamin K2 on the finished project | Quoted by kg |
Vegan gel, omega-3 oxidation panels, dual-SKU kits, and new droppers add feasibility time before the sample clock. Bulk kg MOQ and finished-unit MOQ are separate.
The same project can cover raw-material specifications, formulation, dosage form, packaging, testing and finished-batch release.
Vitamin K2 products may be classified as dietary or food supplements depending on the destination market. Artwork still needs local review. Human data for MK-7 and for MK-4 are compound- and product-specific; study exposures are not automatic label doses.
Review before production typically covers:
- Destination-market classification
- Menaquinone form and mcg units on Supplement Facts
- Structure/function or health-claim wording
- Vitamin K antagonist-related labeling, including warfarin-related language where applicable
- Artwork review against the approved specification
Brand owners remain responsible for finished-label compliance with local counsel.
