Chondroitin Sulfate Supplement OEM, ODM & Private Label Service

KS Nutripharma is a chondroitin sulfate supplement manufacturer for OEM, ODM, and private-label programs. We turn a chondroitin product brief into a manufacturable specification — covering source, formula, dosage form, feasibility, cost, and production planning — then take the approved specification through commercial production of finished chondroitin sulfate supplements for joint health product lines.

Many projects start with little more than “we want a chondroitin product.” The manufacturing brief then has to resolve source, formula architecture, dosage form, fill feasibility, and finished-unit cost.

Build the Chondroitin Product Around the Right Manufacturing Route

R&D reviews fill weight before artwork. Typical commercial loads are development windows, not recommended intakes.

A chondroitin project starts with product architecture, not a single milligram on a raw-material COA.

Development milligrams below are formulation windows, not recommended intakes.

Send Your Formula Brief

chondroitin-only-formula
Chondroitin-First Formula

Use when: Chondroitin sulfate is the core declared active.
We manufacture: A chondroitin-only SKU, commonly in the 800–1,200 mg development band, as one tablet or a planned split serving.
Trade-off: Fewer declared actives simplify the specification and label. A licensed non-animal grade is a different identity from cartilage material.
Default format: Tablet.

chondroitin-glucosamine-formula
Chondroitin + Glucosamine

Use when: The SKU is a traditional joint pair. See glucosamine supplement manufacturer for salt identity and milligram basis.
We manufacture: Two common formulation patterns on the same route. Compact: glucosamine leads and chondroitin sits around ~200 mg. Classic: chondroitin around 800 mg beside a named glucosamine salt.
Trade-off: Two identities versus chondroitin-first. The compact ~200 mg configuration is a different formula, not simply a lower-fill version of the classic ~800 mg formula.
Default format: Tablet or planned multi-count.

chondroitin-glucosamine-msm-formula
Chondroitin + Glucosamine + MSM

Use when: The brand wants a complete three-active joint formula.
We manufacture: Chondroitin around 800 mg + named glucosamine + MSM 750–1,000 mg. Mesh and odor sit with the MSM identity.
Trade-off: The usual question is not whether the stack can be made. It is how much powder has to fit the chosen dosage form.
Default format: Tablet.

04-specialty-companion-tablets
Chondroitin + Specialty Joint Ingredients

Use when: The brief adds MSM, hyaluronic acid, collagen, boswellia extract, curcumin, vitamin C, or another project-specific companion beside chondroitin.
We manufacture: The extra ingredient only when identity and milligrams can share the same unit — or as a split SKU when they cannot. Each added active changes fill, process, cost, or testing requirements.
Trade-off: Each companion can push fill or sensory past a single swallow. A licensed undenatured type II grade is quoted only when named and authorized.
Default format: Follows fill review.

Related formulation options are available for split-unit or companion formulations. See liposomal curcumin and collagen supplements.

Choose the Chondroitin Format: Tablets, Capsules or Powder

Tablet for high load. Capsule when the serving is planned as multiple units. Powder when an open format is required. Gummy for lower-load formulas after cook feasibility. Liquid only after aqueous feasibility.

05-chondroitin-tablets-default-format

Best for: High-load chondroitin and formulas where fewer units per serving matter.
We check: Tablet weight, compression, hardness, friability, disintegration, coating, and punch size. The choice between granulation and direct compression depends on the powder’s flow and compression characteristics. At roughly 1.8–2.0 g tablet weight and above, a two-tablet serving may become more practical than forcing the full load into one tablet.
Commercial implication: Usually the first format we review for high-load chondroitin. A capsule BOM is re-validated before a press run.

06-chondroitin-hard-capsules

Best for: Clean-label panels, moderate active loads, and multi-ingredient formulas that still want a shell.
We check: Capsule size, bulk density, powder flow, fill weight, daily count, and blend behavior. Size 0 typically holds about 350–450 mg; size 00 about 500–650 mg, confirmed against tap density. Blend segregation can cause one active to fall outside its target even when total capsule fill weight is within specification — dense glucosamine salts stacked with chondroitin are checked for blend uniformity. HPMC or gelatin is matched to the finished claim.
Commercial implication: Use when the brief wants a capsule; daily count is set against tap density, not against a pre-chosen shell size.

07-chondroitin-powder-stick

Best for: Sports-nutrition servings, high-dose products, drinkable mixes, and daily sachets.
We check: Loading, dispersibility, taste, odor, moisture, sachet or stick weight, and barrier film. Release is per stick or per serving. Chondroitin is not assumed to be suitable for powder drinks on identity alone.
Commercial implication: Powder formats allow more flexibility in serving size. The raw-material assay does not replace finished-product testing.

08-other-formats-collection

Best for: Project-specific briefs that are not high-load tablets, capsules, or powder.
We check: Gummies, liquids, and softgels against a separate process, sensory, or fill review. Dry chondroitin sulfate is not an oil-phase active; a true softgel needs a compatible fill, or a compressed core on tablet-in-softgel.
Commercial implication: These are not the default route for high-load chondroitin.

Chondroitin Raw Material Sourcing & Traceability

Available source routes for finished-unit OEM:

Source we quoteWhat travels with the lotUsual first format
BovineSpecies + origin; BSE/TSE documentation when the destination requires itTablet
PorcineSpecies + origin; destination and religious constraints reviewed on the same fileTablet
AvianSpecies + approved-source qualificationTablet
MarineActual species; fish or shark named when the lot is shark; allergen fileTablet or capsule
Fermentation / non-animalLicensed grade only, with authorization on the briefAfter fill review

Bovine is not a substitute for “bovine from a named country.” A marine lot is not automatically shark-free. Animal cartilage chondroitin does not support a vegan claim.

Incoming review typically covers:

Incoming fieldManufacturing use
Species / sourceLabel, market, and religious requirements
Salt formFormula identity
MoistureStability and processing
Protein / ashRaw-material qualification
Heavy metalsRelease
MicrobiologyRelease
Particle sizeProcessing
Bulk densityCapsule / tablet loading
TraceabilityBatch and supply control

Destination-specific source, animal-origin, religious, allergen, and labeling requirements are confirmed against the finished SKU.

Non-chondroitin-led programs are handled on the joint health supplements path.

A Chondroitin Specification Should Be More Than One Assay Number

Two drums can both print “90% chondroitin” and still be different materials.

Headline percentage is not enough. Method, calculation basis, and the named standard have to match before two lots are comparable. CPC titration, enzymatic assay, and HPLC can each produce a percentage result, but those results are not directly interchangeable without a defined basis. Polyanionic adulterants can inflate a CPC titration, so identity and impurity checks travel with the method.

We qualify the incoming material against its approved method and release the finished unit against the approved finished-product method. A CPC-only incoming result is not treated as an HPLC finished-product result.

Label milligrams are a finished-product declaration. Raw-material weigh-up follows the approved assay basis and lot result — whether the specification is expressed as chondroitin sulfate or on another defined basis. “Chondroitin 800 mg” is not automatically 800 mg of raw powder.

Chondroitin Formula Development Before Production

Formula feasibility. R&D reviews active load, ingredient compatibility, powder characteristics, capsule fill, tablet compression, and powder or sachet behavior.

Dosage-form feasibility. Capsule size, tablet size, serving count, and powder serving weight.

Manufacturing feasibility. Mixing, filling, compression, coating, packaging, and stability where required.

A worked load: 800 mg chondroitin + 1,500 mg glucosamine HCl + 750 mg MSM = 3,050 mg actives before excipients. That load is more suited to a tablet stack or planned multi-count. Overage follows stability and process data for that grade — not a fixed percentage.

Make the Formula Work Commercially

A technically workable formula may still miss the commercial target. Cost is part of development, not a number added after the press is booked.

Raw material. Source, grade, supplier, and material MOQ all move the kilogram cost of chondroitin itself.

Formula load. Higher active loads increase ingredient cost and may require a larger unit, more units per serving, or a different dosage form.

Dosage form. Capsule, tablet, powder, and sachet are compared against fill, process, and pack — not treated as interchangeable price lists.

Packaging. Bottle, blister, sachet, and pouch change barrier, line time, and unit cost.

Production quantity. Planning MOQ and annual volume change the unit cost of the same formula. A kilogram drum quote is a raw-material quote; finished-unit MOQ is separate.

If the target cost is outside the first quote, we can compare grade, source, dosage form, or serving size and unit count before changing the product brief. Branded or licensed grades appear only when named on the brief with authorization.

Chondroitin Second-Source & Formula Transfer

Second-source work requires equivalency at the raw-material, formula, process, and finished-product levels — not just a similar-looking label panel.

Existing product, second manufacturer

We review the current formula, raw-material requirements, dosage form, process, and finished-product requirements, then map what can transfer and what has to be re-qualified.

Existing chondroitin material, new manufacturing site

Customer-supplied drums follow the same incoming checks as KS-sourced lots.

Existing finished SKU, specification rebuild

We check whether the live label can be matched at the material, dose, process, and cost levels rather than reproduced as a label-only specification.

From Pilot Batch to Commercial Production

Brief → formula / source review → sample → specification lock → commercial production → QC release. Line figures sit on the manufacturing capacity page.

FormatTypical planning MOQTypical timing
TabletsTypically 5,000–10,000 finished units/SKUSample 7–15 days after specification lock; mass production often 4–6 weeks after lock
CapsulesTypically 3,000–5,000 unitsAfter specification and fill/count lock; production schedule is project-dependent
Powder / stickOften starts at around 10,000 unitsAfter flavor, flow, moisture, and pack requirements are locked
Gummies and liquidsAfter cook or dispersion pilotAfter the approved format pilot

Packaging follows moisture, load, and destination-market requirements. High-load tablets often use desiccant or a higher-barrier bottle or blister.

Chondroitin Quality Control From Raw Material to Finished Product

Incoming. Species and origin documentation, identity, moisture, heavy metals, microbiology, and source-specific files (including BSE/TSE on bovine lots when required). Customer-supplied material follows the same incoming checks.

In-process. Humidity; tablet or fill weight; hardness and disintegration on high-load tablets; blend uniformity on multi-ingredient formulas.

Finished unit. Each declared active against the approved finished-product requirements; uniformity; microbiology; physical checks; packaging integrity; stability documentation when required.

Chondroitin Supplement Manufacturing FAQs

Q: Can you manufacture chondroitin-only supplements?
A: Yes. A chondroitin-first SKU is a standard route, commonly in the 800–1,200 mg development band as a tablet or a planned split serving.

Q: Can you work from an existing formula or competitor sample?
A: Yes. We review the live formula or reference product and quote on what can be transferred or rematched.

Q: Can you use customer-specified chondroitin material?
A: Yes. Customer-supplied drums follow the same incoming checks as KS-sourced lots.

Q: Can you develop a glucosamine + chondroitin or G+C+MSM formula?
A: Yes. Compact ~200 mg and classic ~800 mg chondroitin loads are different formulas. MSM stays a separate declared active.

Q: What affects the MOQ and lead time?
A: Dosage form, pack, and whether flavor, flow, or a process pilot still has to be confirmed. Planning ranges sit in the production table above.

Q: Can you provide source and batch documentation?
A: Yes. Typical delivery includes the finished-product specification, batch COA, species/origin file, and the destination documents that belong with that lot.

Send Us Your Product Brief for a Feasibility-Based Quote

Send whatever you already have. Unfinished fields do not block a first feasibility review.

Useful when available: formula or reference product, chondroitin source if already specified, target milligrams, dosage form, target market, packaging, expected volume, and any COA, artwork, sample, or benchmark you already have.

Not all fields are mandatory. A note such as “we want a chondroitin + MSM capsule for the US market” is enough to open a review.

Request a Chondroitin Manufacturing Feasibility Review

We typically reply within one business day. A complete technical file is not required to start. A project manager is assigned. NDA is available for custom formulas. See Confidentiality & IP Protection.
