Professional Vitamin B12 Supplements Contract Manufacturer

KS Nutripharma is a vitamin B12 supplement manufacturer for OEM, ODM, and private-label programs. We develop finished vitamin B12 dietary supplements—tablets, capsules, sublingual units, and liquids—for energy and daily-nutrition assortments, with a locked cobalamin form, microgram potency, format file, and batch COA.

Vitamin B12 supplement, B12 supplement, vitamin B-12, cobalamin, and vitamine B12 are the same oral dietary-supplement category. Name the INN, mcg per serving, and format before comparing quotes.

How a Vitamin B12 Project Is Specified

You can lock a comparable quote in this order. Skip a step and two factories will quote different SKUs.

  1. Oral finished SKU — tablets, capsules, sublingual, or liquid.
  2. INN — cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin (dual or other salts if named).
  3. mcg and basis — as the named form, or one stated equivalence.
  4. Format file — swallow, hold-in-mouth, or dropper.
  5. Single or combo — folate, iron, B6, D3 as separate lines.
  6. Pack — light and moisture file with the dosage form.
  7. COA and quantity — destination market, tests, units, timeline.

Choose the Vitamin B12 Format: Tablets, Capsules, Sublingual or Liquid

This is the private-label manufacturing split. A vitamin B12 tablets manufacturer path, a vitamin B12 capsules manufacturer path, a sublingual vitamin B12 manufacturer file, and a liquid vitamin B12 manufacturer file are four specifications — not one COA with four labels. Gummy and spray stay project-scoped at the bottom of this section.

High-volume swallowed SKUs usually start as tablets. Methylcobalamin and multi-actives often stay in capsules.

Powder or premix for a multi plant or stick SKU is project-scoped. → Powders & Granules
A vitamin B12 gummies manufacturer path is project-scoped: heat, water activity, and assay per piece — not a relabeled tablet. → Gummies

Tablets

Use when: F01, F03, F08, or F10 — a vitamin B12 tablet manufacturer path.
Why: Pack density; pharmacy-compact bottles.
Specify: Compression, coating, content uniformity, overage. 500–1,000 mcg is common panel talk; 2,500–5,000 mcg is an F08 file.
Manufacturing note: Chewable is a flavor and piece-assay file, not the swallowed-tablet COA.
Tablets

Capsules

Use when: F02, F06, F07, or F09 — a vitamin B12 capsule manufacturer path.
Why: Lower heat load on some paths; shell choice for vegan.
Specify: HPMC or gelatin; fill weight; opaque shell if light-sensitive.
Manufacturing note: Dry B12 is not a default oil-fill softgel. A scoped oil-fill uses the softgel file and a plant-gel shell if vegan.
Hard Capsules

Sublingual

Use when: F04. A sublingual vitamin B12 manufacturer file.
Why: Dissolve and flavor are the product.
Specify: Piece weight; dissolve; flavor; mcg per piece.
Manufacturing note: Piece assay on the sublingual unit.

Liquid / drops

Use when: F05. A liquid vitamin B12 manufacturer / private-label drops file.
Why: Serving flexibility without a solid unit.
Specify: mcg per mL; preservative; dropper; amber or equivalent light control.
Manufacturing note: Spray only if scoped as its own file.
Liquids

Custom Vitamin B12 Supplement Formulation for Private Label SKUs

Starting architectures for custom vitamin B12 formulation and private-label programs. Pick the closest card or send a BOM. KS formulation team and R&D center lock the INN and mcg against that BOM.

F01 — Daily Oral Vitamin B12

Use when: Swallowed tablet or capsule for energy and daily-nutrition assortments.
Specify: INN; mcg per serving; tablet vs capsule; overage policy.
Challenge: Microgram fill. Uniformity is the work — premix before the production blender, then finished content uniformity.

F02 — Methylcobalamin / Methylated B12

Use when: Supplement Facts will print methylcobalamin.
Specify: Methylcobalamin mcg; light and moisture file; adenosylcobalamin only if it is a second line.
Challenge: We do not freeze a methylcobalamin commercial specification on the raw COA alone. Pilot on the intended pack comes first. Typical review: light exposure, moisture uptake, overage versus bottle opacity, and accelerated stability before the PO spec is locked. “Methylated” is a panel word, not an absorption proof.

F03 — Cyanocobalamin B12

Use when: High-volume, cost-stable tablets — common on vegetarian and export bottles.
Specify: mcg as cyanocobalamin; tablet count; vegan claim → also F06.
Challenge: Usually the most stable oral default, so overage and pack are often lighter than F02. Artwork should name the INN, not rank the salt.

F04 — Sublingual B12

Use when: Sold as “dissolve under the tongue.” Separate SKU from F01.
Specify: INN; mcg per piece; dissolve; flavor; child-resistant pack if required.
Challenge: Residence time, taste, and piece assay. Common holds: incomplete dissolve, flavor load versus assay, moisture that changes the piece after packing.

F05 — Liquid / Dropper B12

Use when: Measured mL or dropper.
Specify: mcg per mL; INN; preservative; light-protected bottle; dropper graduation.
Challenge: Photostability is the file. Common holds: color drift, assay decline, dropper volume scatter, micro limits. A tablet COA does not release a liquid lot. Spray is a separate file if scoped.

F06 — Vegan / Vegetarian B12

Use when: The bottle will print vegan or vegetarian.
Specify: Diet claim; non-gelatin shell; color/flavor origin; INN (either salt).
Challenge: The claim is the BOM. Gelatin and vegan copy cannot share a unit.

F07 — Women’s / Multi-Adjacent B12

Use when: The SKU sits in a women’s wellness assortment. Prenatal-adjacent briefs use a prenatal file.
Specify: Label population; iron or folate → F09, F10, or the prenatal BOM.
Challenge: Population copy does not change the cobalamin molecule. Companions change the process file.

F08 — High-Dose Oral B12

Use when: The panel will be compared on a high labeled mcg (development talk includes 2,500 and 5,000 mcg).
Specify: mcg; INN; destination upper-label rules; one unit vs split serving.
Challenge: Label mcg is still a microgram blend. Uniformity and overage do not get easier because the panel number is larger.

F09 — B12 + Folate / 5-MTHF

Use when: The panel names folate or folic acid with B12. 5-MTHF is a different salt file than folic acid.
Specify: Folate form and mcg; B12 INN and mcg; DFE rules for the market.
Challenge: Two low-dose actives; dual assay. Folate can mask hematologic signs of low B12 — artwork review, not a stronger blood-health claim.

F10 — B12 + Iron

Use when: Named iron salt and B12 on one unit, after claim review. Elemental iron is a mineral file — see iron supplement manufacturing when iron leads the SKU.
Specify: Iron salt and elemental mg; B12 INN and mcg; vitamin C only if it is on the iron file.
Challenge: Color, compression, dual assay. Iron moisture versus methylcobalamin is a development check before sampling.

How to Choose a Vitamin B12 Supplement Manufacturer?

A vitamin B12 private label manufacturer quote and a raw-cobalamin offer are not the same RFQ. Comparing a methylcobalamin manufacturer path with a cyanocobalamin manufacturer path only works after both INNs, packs, and assay files are named.

If you are comparing two OEM suppliers, ask five questions first.

  1. Do they assay finished tablets, capsules, pieces, or millilitres — or only the incoming drum?
  2. Can they validate microgram content uniformity (premix, blend, then finished CU)?
  3. Is methylcobalamin stability shown on your commercial pack, not a generic bottle?
  4. Can one artwork program cover more than one dosage form — tablet, capsule, sublingual, liquid — as separate files?
  5. Can they supply destination-market documentation (identity, assay, micro, metals, and the claim file)?

Those five answers usually separate a finished-product manufacturer from a raw-material trader. KS Nutripharma is a vitamin B12 contract manufacturer for OEM and ODM oral SKUs; we quote the finished unit. Supplement contract manufacturing.

A good vitamin B12 OEM manufacturer typically locks finished assay, a stability protocol on the pack you will ship, a pilot before the commercial batch, pack validation (light, moisture, seal), blend sampling, and artwork review against the destination claim file. That list is a screening file — not a ranking of named competitors.

Before You Send a Vitamin B12 RFQ

Bring the file below. Missing lines are why two OEM quotations are not comparable.

  • Destination market
  • Dosage form (tablet, capsule, sublingual, liquid, or a scoped stick/gummy/softgel)
  • Cobalamin INN
  • Target mcg and potency basis
  • Label-claim constraints (structure/function; no deficiency-treatment copy)
  • Packaging (bottle vs blister; light and moisture)
  • Bottle count (headspace on liquids)
  • Shelf-life conversation (data on that SKU — not a catalog month)
  • Existing COA or Supplement Facts
  • Artwork status

Send Your BOM when those lines are named.

Vitamin B12 Forms: Methylcobalamin, Cyanocobalamin and Other Cobalamins

Cobalamin is sourced on the finished-supplement project. F02 and F03 are the commercial SKUs; this table is the purchase-order lock.

Cyanocobalamin is usually the more photostable oral salt, so we often run a lighter overage and pack file. Methylcobalamin more often needs a harder light/moisture file; we treat overage as a pack-specific number confirmed on pilot, not a catalog percentage copied from the raw COA.

Freeze labeled mcg and INN basis before comparing quotes.

Public adult reference intakes sit at low-single-digit mcg per day in nutrition references. Commercial panels often show 500, 1,000, 2,500, or 5,000 mcg. Catalog microgram levels exist in part because intrinsic-factor uptake saturates and a small fraction can still move by passive diffusion. That is serving architecture. It does not make 1,000 mcg the recommended daily intake.

Why Vitamin B12 Projects Fail Before the First PO?

Most quote mismatches come from an unlocked file, not from tablet hardness.

Common Mistakes When Sourcing Vitamin B12 Supplements

Buyer-side holds we see before the first PO.

  1. Choosing methylcobalamin only because it sounds premium. The INN is a specification, not a ranking. Cyanocobalamin remains the usual cost-stable tablet file.
  2. Using a raw COA as the finished COA. Microgram CU lives on the tablet, capsule, piece, or millilitre you ship.
  3. Skipping content uniformity on a 500–1,000 mcg solid.
  4. Changing the bottle after stability was run. Count, resin, opacity, liner, and desiccant are part of the assay file.
  5. Blending probiotic CFU with B12 without a compatibility study. Water activity usually argues for a dual SKU.

Vitamin B12 Supplement Safety, Side Effects and Label Review

For the brand’s warning set — not a self-diagnosis tool.

Possible complaints include gastrointestinal discomfort. Sensitivity or rash belongs on the label when the destination market requires it. Incidence rates are not published for an untested formula.

Public references often discuss oral B12 as having low toxicity and, in some jurisdictions, no established upper intake level. F08 is still a development and artwork choice, not “any mcg is fine.”

Vegan claims, pregnancy as a labeled population, metformin or acid-reducing medicines, and absorption-surgery history go to destination-market counsel. Folate masking stays on the F09 artwork file. Iron and B6 keep their own GI, interaction, and odor files.

Vitamin B12 Supplement Quality and Manufacturing Controls

Release path we actually run: Incoming identity → premix → blend uniformity → compression or fill → finished assay on the unit → pack → QA release. Out-of-spec results go on hold for investigation until QA closes the deviation.

At 500 mcg or 1,000 mcg, vitamin B12 is typically well below 1% of a 300–800 mg tablet or capsule weight (a 500 mcg charge in a 500 mg tablet is 0.1%). The hard step is micro-dose distribution. Our formulation team normally builds a geometric premix before final blending rather than charging neat vitamin into the production blender. Incoming HPLC on the drum still matters; it does not replace blend-uniformity checks and finished content uniformity.

Premix and blend sampling. The premix is sampled before it enters the production blender. The blend is sampled at multiple locations — typically beginning, middle, and end of discharge — before compression or fill. Finished tablets or capsules follow the content-uniformity plan on the specification. When the RFQ cites USP 905 or Ph. Eur. content uniformity, that is the acceptance file we write to. We do not invent a house CU number that contradicts the destination spec.

Cyanocobalamin lots more often keep a modest overage once the pack is ordinary opaque HDPE. Methylcobalamin lots more often wait until we have pilot results on that bottle (or blister) under light and accelerated conditions, then freeze overage. We do not copy one catalog overage onto both salts.

Vitamin B12 Supplement Packaging and Private Label

Pack is part of the assay file. Count and shipping come after light, moisture, and seal.

Why not a clear bottle? Visible light is a methylcobalamin and liquid assay problem. Clear PET is a brand look, not a stability strategy, unless the stability protocol on that SKU says otherwise. Opaque HDPE is the usual tablet/capsule start because it blocks light and travels well. Amber PET (or equivalent) is the usual liquid start because you still need to see fill level and fit a dropper.

HDPE vs PET. HDPE: tablets and capsules, impact, light block, lower cost on opaque counts. PET: liquids and some retail looks; choose amber when the INN or solution is light-sensitive. Clear PET on methylcobalamin is a hold waiting to happen unless foil, carton, and protocol offset it — say so on the RFQ.

Headspace. On liquids, unused headspace is oxygen and light volume. A 60-count fill and a 120-count fill in the same bottle drawing are different headspace ratios; they can need different stability evaluation. Do not assume one liquid protocol covers every count.

Desiccant is not interchangeable. Clay, silica gel, and molecular sieve take up moisture at different rates and residual humidities. Name the type on the pack spec. Sublingual pieces and iron or some 5-MTHF fills more often need a named canister; cyanocobalamin in a well-sealed opaque bottle often skips desiccant until the climate file says otherwise.

When nitrogen / inert headspace. Liquids and other oxygen- or light-sensitive fills when the stability protocol requires it. Ordinary cyanocobalamin tablets in opaque HDPE with induction sealing usually do not get nitrogen as a default slogan.

Liner. Foil heat-induction liners weld a moisture/oxygen barrier and give tamper evidence. Pressure-sensitive liners are a weaker moisture file — sometimes enough for a stable cyanocobalamin tablet in a dry climate, often not enough for methylcobalamin or humid export. Skip a bottle liner only when the pack is a blister (or equivalent) that already is the barrier.

Blister. PVC/PVDC vs alu-alu is a moisture and light decision, not a decoration choice. Alu-alu is the usual talk for humid routes or methylcobalamin counts that will not live in a bottle.

Typical bottle-count conversation: 30 / 60 / 90 / 120. Supplement Facts must match the INN and mcg on the COA. Dating comes from formulation, pack, storage, and data — not a generic month range on this page.

Vitamin B12 Supplement OEM Process: RFQ to Shipment

Our OEM vitamin B12 manufacturing process runs on the finished unit.

01. RFQ — Market, BOM or card, INN, mcg, format, pack.
02. Feasibility — Premix, uniformity, stability, companions.
03. Sample / pilot — Against the approved specification, on the intended pack when overage depends on it.

Vitamin B12 Manufacturer Buying Summary

Six decisions usually determine whether two manufacturer quotations are actually comparable.

  1. Choose the dosage form first.
  2. Lock the cobalamin INN.
  3. Freeze the potency basis.
  4. Validate stability on the commercial package.
  5. Release the finished dosage form — not the raw material.
  6. Review label claims before artwork.

Related Resources

Can you manufacture from our existing BOM or match a live SKU?

Yes. Send the BOM, Supplement Facts, or current COA. We check INN, mcg basis, format file, and companions before quoting. Formula transfer from another manufacturer is the same path — incoming identity is still checked before premix.

Can you use customer-supplied raw materials?

Yes, when the lots pass incoming identity and assay before they enter premix. We still release on finished assay of the dosage form you will sell.

Can you sign an NDA?

Yes, when the project requires it — before you send a proprietary formula.

Can you source a branded cobalamin input?

If the brief names a branded raw material, we quote against that specification and the documentation you can supply. We do not imply a trademark license we do not hold.

Can you run a pilot batch?

Yes. Pilot is a standard planning stage (see MOQ). Methylcobalamin overage is often frozen after pilot on the commercial pack, not after the raw COA.

What testing is required to release a batch?

Agreed identity and finished assay on the dosage form, plus micro and the destination metals panel. Content uniformity on microgram solids. Liquids add photostability and dropper checks as scoped. Third-party (SGS/Eurofins) when the RFQ requires it.

Do you offer accelerated stability?

When the RFQ scopes the protocol and the pack. Light and accelerated work are more often in the methylcobalamin and liquid files.

Is methylcobalamin more stable than cyanocobalamin?

Usually the reverse for oral solids and liquids. Cyanocobalamin is typically the more photostable salt. Methylcobalamin more often needs a harder light, moisture, and overage file.

Does methylcobalamin lose potency?

It can if pack and overage are copied from a cyanocobalamin tablet file. Potency is a finished-unit and pack question, not a raw-drum slogan.

Does B12 need nitrogen flushing?

Not as a default on every tablet. We use nitrogen or inert headspace when the stability file requires it — more often on sensitive liquids. Opaque HDPE plus induction is the usual cyanocobalamin tablet start.

Can B12 be packed in blister?

Yes. PVC/PVDC vs alu-alu follows moisture and light. See Packaging.

Can vitamin B12 be manufactured as gummies?

Project-scoped. Heat, water activity, and assay per piece. A gummy is not a relabeled tablet COA.

Can vitamin B12 be manufactured in stick packs?

Yes, as a scoped powder/stick file. Assay per stick, moisture, and premix still apply. See Powders & Granules on the format section.

Can vitamin B12 be manufactured in softgels?

Not as a default dry fill. Oil-fill B12 is a separate softgel file (see format cards). Most oral B12 programs start as tablets or hard capsules.

Can B12 be combined with probiotics?

Only as a scoped compatibility file. Water activity and CFU holds usually argue for a dual SKU or a sequenced process, not a casual blend.

Can B12 be combined with omega-3?

Usually a second SKU. Dry cobalamin inside an omega-3 fill is a compatibility and leak file, not a casual blend.

Can vitamin B12 be sugar-free?

When the brief names the sweetener system — typical talk on liquids, sublinguals, and gummies. Swallow tablets and capsules still lock excipients; “sugar-free” is not automatic copy.

Can vitamin B12 be organic?

Organic is not a default B12 SKU on this page. Certified-organic inputs and a destination organic claim are a separate documentation file if the brief requires them — not a catalog INN.

Can vitamin B12 be non-GMO?

When the RFQ requires non-GMO statements, we quote against the documentation needed on incoming lots and the finished SKU. It is a file, not a salt.

Do you manufacture B12 in the USA?

We manufacture finished oral B12 for export programs, including US-bound private label. This page does not list a US plant. Destination-market documentation is part of the RFQ.

What shelf life can you print?

Dating follows formulation, pack, storage, and stability data on that SKU. This page does not publish a generic month range.

What mcg can you put on the panel?

Set per project. 1,000 mcg is a common conversation, not a recommended daily intake. See Dosage and Potency.

What does “methylated” or “active” mean on an RFQ?

It must resolve to an INN, usually methylcobalamin.

Can you make vegan B12, or add folate, iron, or vitamin D?

F06, F09, F10, or the commercial-stack cards. Folate masking and iron files still apply.
